![]() Reputed to have been ripped from the greatest vampire who ever lived, Janos Audron, the heart of darkness restores vampiric un-life. It was Raziel the Sarafan, who tore out the heart of Janos Audron, thus Kain's infamous line, "The heart of darkness. The sect that existed in the historic past were lead by the Sarafan Warrior-Priests, among whom Raziel, Turel, Dumah, Rahab, Zephon, Melchiah, and Malek are counted as primary members. SARAFAN Religious sect whose members have devoted themselves to ridding Nosgoth of all vampires. In Nosgoth, there are worst things than death and vampirism. The vampires are detested by the humans of Nosgoth, and as the Sarafan so put it, "parasites of the night." However, the vampires are not the only terrors of this world. The Nosgoth vampire has taken on Euro-Slavic qualities and fueled by a fanatic American obsession with Goth into a psychotic kill-all freak. ![]() VAMPIRE Historically and physically incorrect version of the blood sucker. Meridian will be Kain's new hunting ground as he strives to regain his lost vampiric skills and seek vengeance on those who have wronged him in the past. It is here the Sarafan have based their operations, and it is here where the vampires that still live hope to achieve final victory. MERIDIAN Wrongly billed as the "Capital of Nosgoth," Meridian is still undoubtedly one of the largest cities, if not the largest city in the world. The coincidence between the strange energies from the spire in Dark Eden and the new Glyph energy in Blood Omen 2 should not be ignored. Kain was able to penetrate the barrier that surrounded the spire and defeated those responsible for Dark Eden's creation. There, twisted parodies of flora and fauna were created by the warping energies released by the dark spire in the heart of the cursed land. Whether the Pillars serve to imprison the entity or to serve it remains to be seen.ĭARK EDEN A portion of Nosgoth corrupted by the combined efforts and influence of two of the Circle's members. In Soulreaver 2, one learns that the Elder God is held beneath the Pillars in a massive chamber. Should the guardian be rendered corrupt however, the pillar can only be restored to rights by having its guardian slain. When a guardian dies, the pillars seek its replacement. From what is said in Blood Omen 1, each pillar has its guardian. Each pillar represents a concept: Conflict, States, Death, Nature, Energy, Dimension, Mind, Time, and Balance. These towering marvels are nine in number, and occupy the center of all Nosgoth. ![]() THE PILLARS (OF NOSGOTH) "The Pillar accepted my offering thus it was restored." Most likely, Nosgoth is the name of the continent, for although the planet is never named, Kain does indeed refer to the world in general as "earth." If Nosgoth is indeed a kingdom, then there are many smaller kingdoms within it (like Willendorf from Blood Omen 1). Whether this is the name of a kingdom, the continent or the world is unknown. NOSGOTH The land where the Legacy of Kain takes place (all games). The story is convoluted enough to make a nitpicker's skin crawl - but first, some important peoples, places, and factions: It's stuffed full with a detailed walkthrough, full enemy information, interesting game history, and more.īy all means do go out and buy Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (Blood Omen 1), Legacy of Kain: Soulreaver (SR1), and Soulreaver 2 (SR2) before, after, or during Blood Omen 2. It's just like those fights between gangs in the streets of Oakland during the '70s, but with vampires doing all the killing. The bad news is that he does it pretty much his'self. The good news is that Kain is alive to take back what's his. Turns out Kain's legions of vampire groupies that followed him to "glorious battle" got turned into chum by some dude with a giant dried prune of a head in armor calling his great self the Sarafan Lord. She then proceeds to tongue slap every gamers' favourite evil incarnate as soon as he gets up (if you know what I mean. ![]() From the nifty trailer everyone saw on the crap-o-la Soul Reaver 2, we know Kain gets his head smashed in and goes into a coma for some two hunnert years and some crazy vampire broad named Umah, or Oola, or Boobarella, takes Kain's comatose corpse to a Marcus Rowland Steampunk 1920 city. The Shakespearean epic that is the Legacy of Kain makes its fifty-bucks-a-pop fourth installment in the series. "Tell them that Kain is coming, and that I shall deliver them all."
